Balance & Mobility After 60
Good balance is what keeps you walking confidently, recovering from a stumble, and staying active. Balance is a skill you can train at any age with simple, steady drills.
Why balance matters
Steady balance helps you walk on uneven ground, manage stairs, and recover from a stumble.
Train it gently
Most balance work is simple standing drills with a chair or wall nearby for support.
A little, often
A few minutes of balance work most days adds up faster than long, rare sessions.
Balance Exercises to Try
A Note on Safety
Always have a sturdy chair, counter, or wall within reach when you practice balance. If you feel unsteady or dizzy, stop and sit down. If you have a history of falls or balance concerns, check with your doctor before starting. They may refer you to a physical therapist, which is a great resource.
